No new clothes - 1 whole year...
Why am I doing this...?
This blog is a record of my 365 day journey of buying NO NEW CLOTHES!!! Eek! You might ask why I would do such an obviously ridiculous thing....well.....
a) to raise awareness of the fact that we are all blind to where our clothes come from, how they are made, who makes them and what happens to them after we throw them away
b) to prove to myself I can do it!
c) to help me to become a bit more adventurous with the clothes I wear and not look like a highstreet clone!
The rules:
1. I will not buy ANY new item of clothing or accessory from a shop for a total fo 365 days. This includes gifts I give to other people (sorry Mr M)
2. I will not accept gifts of new clothes or accessories for a total of 365 days
3. I can buy clothes and accessories from charity shops, thrift sales and other second hand shops
4. I can accept gifts of second hand clothes and accessories
5. I can buy fabric and sewing supplies to refashion or repurpose any of my second hand finds!
That's it really... wish me luck!
